About the Emrey Track & Field Assoction
Each year, more high school students compete in track and field than in any other varsity sport. The variety of events and the ability to involve athletes of all skill levels makes track and field the nation's most inclusive high school sport. The Emrey Track & Field Association encourages these high school athletes by sponsoring the William "Pop" Emrey Relays each May and the Bill Emrey Jr. Christmas City Relays each December. Our volunteer board of directors is committed to promote, support and improve the quality of participation in track and field and its companion sport, cross-country. We do this by organizaing ad sponsoring competitions where participation is the true measure of success and by providing support to other competitions that share the same focus. In 1994, the association built on the success of its "Pop" Emrey Relays and Christmas City Relays and created a competitive and instructional summer "All-Comers" series for athletes of all abilities. Members of the Emrey Track & Field Association doate their time and talent to athletic competitions that reward participation and sportsmanship as well as performance. We do this as officials, volunteers and steward of the sport. Members receive free admission to the Emrey Relays and Christmas City Relays, free participation in summer all-comers meets, plus membership mailings and merchandise discounts.
